Automatic lighting control system is the most effective way to save operating and maintenance costs. Simple light control can be done by daylight and motion sensors that are directly connected to the luminaires. The topology of this system isn’t possible to be changed later, only the parameters - the level of illumination and the switching time can be changed. Savings in this simple system typically reach 10-20% depending on the sensors and dimming of the luminaires, or just switching off them.

Lighting control via programmable - addressable systems is much more effective, but also more expensive. The most widely-used system is the DALI control, which consists of a control unit, motion and presence sensors, luminance sensors and dimmable luminaires equipped with DALI ballasts. In addition, all the elements have to be connected by a bus, which is also powered separately. This system allows to set the properties for each individual luminaire by using a PC / tablet and also change the settings at any time. Another way to control lighting with a programmable system is the INFIDIO wireless system, which allows setting of properties for each individual luminaire, but its elements are not connected to the bus, therefore it is suitable for reconstructions where it isn’t possible to install the bus.
